Meet Dr. V
Dr. Wendy VanHosen is God’s chosen vessel for such a time as this. As a barrier breaker and bridge builder, Dr. VanHosen is a voice for the unlikely. This woman of God has an incredible anointing that allows her to deliver powerful life-changing messages that will challenge listeners to harness the fullness of God in their lives.
Dr. Wendy VanHosen is a native of Norfolk, Virginia, and is affectionately called “Dr. V.” As a faithful servant and ministry leader, Dr. VanHosen currently serves the ministries of Grove Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia where the Rev. Dr. Melvin O. Marriner is the Senior Pastor. In addition, Dr. VanHosen is the founder and overseer of VanHosen Ministries, a ministry developed with a vision to connect generations, races, and Christian denominations through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dr. VanHosen is a published author and her book, “I’ve Been a Fool, Now What?” offers hope and encouragement for readers to live their best life yet. Prior to submitting to the call of full-time ministry, Dr. VanHosen served as a public-school principal, a role where she excelled and led with integrity. Dr. VanHosen has humbly and courageously answered the call of God on her life with “Yes Lord, send me.”
Dr. VanHosen holds a Master of Divinity from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University. Dr. VanHosen continues her pursuit of excellence through her Doctor of Ministry Studies at Jakes Divinity School. In addition, Dr. VanHosen holds an earned Executive Doctorate degree in Education from the College of William & Mary, a Master’s degree in Education from Old Dominion University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Hampton University.
Dr. VanHosen is blessed to be married to her gift of a husband Deacon Harry VanHosen, a great man of faith. She considers it a privilege to be the mother to their sons, Michael, Lawrence, Lance, and Lawson, and daughter Jasmine.
Dr. VanHosen is a wife, mother, mentor, leader, teacher, and preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
